All India Congress Committee (AICC) Goa desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao on Saturday said that the party will take the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) head-on and ensure that the ‘fascist and anti-people’ government is dethroned.
Addressing the media at Congress House, Rao said, “Congress will take its battle head-on against the fascist government which is destroying the economy today. We will take the BJP head-on in Goa with unity and strong sense of purpose. We will take a decision and finalise our strategy very shortly.”

Rao said that he will visit Goa regularly and also visit the remaining 37 Assembly constituencies during the next few months and adopt a strategy to ensure the defeat of the BJP.
The AICC in-charge alleged that the BJP’s programme is how to win elections, how to topple elected governments, how to demolish opposition parties, how to ensure defections and how to threaten/blackmail the people.
Rao said that the State administration had collapsed and that the Chief Minister had no control over the government. The BJP government was illegitimate and its priority is to make money and help crony capitalists, he said.
Rao said the Congress party will also take a suitable decision at the right time as far as question of pre-poll alliance with other political parties is concerned in the State.
“All the things would be decided in a proper manner. We have to see that this anti-democratic, unethical, corrupt, anti-people BJP government should go from Goa,” he said.
Rao claimed that the Congress is the strongest political party and will strategise how to defeat the BJP. “We will decide whether to have alliance or understanding with other parties or to contest the elections on our own strength,” he said.
