Yes, there are problems: Avertano Furtado

Minister visits hospicio and learns of the shortcomings in the hospital

Margao: After the serious incident of the ransacking of the Hospicio on Wednesday the Labour and Fisheries Minister has finally agreed to the problems faced by the Hospital. “No doctor will on purpose kill any patient and they try their best to save the lives of all those who are admitted at the hospital. I will be looking at what is the exact cause of the death” said Furtado
On Friday morning Avertano visited the Hospital and spoke to the in charge doctor and found out the shortcomings and the areas for improvement in the Hospicio. Avertano has agreed of having a shortage of Doctors and lack of proper security to the staff at the Hospicio.
The Doctors spoke to Minister Avertano and expressed the problems they face at work. “There is shortage of Doctors for the amount of patients coming in at the hospital. In addition to that the security to the Doctors and staff is very poor and thankfully no one was manhandled on Wednesday as it would have created a huge problem” opined Avertano. Avertano also recognised the efforts of the Doctors to attend all the patients and also the security for working round the clock.
“I have called the Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’souza on Saturday to have a check of the Hospital and resolve some important issues of the Hospital” informed Avertano.
