porvorim: Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao has moved as many as 230 amendments to the motion of thanks to the address of the Governor, to be taken up for discussion on Monday, February 5 and 7.
The 230 amendments include failures of the government in fiscal management, collapse of law and order, rising unemployment, signing of MoU with Paytm, transportation of bodies across the border without the knowledge of law enforcing authorities, Mhadei river dispute, environmental issues, pollution, corruption and various other core issues concerning Goa.

Failure of Disaster Management Authority, resumption of mining, Sanjeevani Sugar Factory, bypass issue at Bhoma and Cuncolim, disposal of hazardous waste, wasteful expenditure on events, Smart City are some more issues highlighted in the amendments by the Leader of the Opposition.
The 24 congratulatory motions moved by Alemao include a motion congratulating a widow Usha Naik, who performed the wedding rituals of her daughter Dr Gautami, a pioneering step taken by a women in Goa. The other congratulatory motions include Goan medal winners in national games, various sportspersons, artists, writers and achievers at national and international level.
