PANJIM: Aaron Farias, Pradnya Caro, Ishita Colaso, Chandan Caro, Ishaan Colaso and Shaurya Desai emerged champions at the DBO-Edcon Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025 organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, under the aegis of Goa Table Tennis Association and supported by Edcon Developers, at the Don Bosco Oratory, here, recently.
The tournament witnessed some of Goa’s finest paddlers in action, culminating in an exciting finale that drew a large and enthusiastic crowd.
In the men’s singles final, top seed Aaron Farias displayed his trademark flair and control to outplay Anshuman Agarwal 4-1 (12-10, 7-11, 11-3, 11-2, 11-9).
In the women’s singles, seasoned campaigner Pradnya Caro staged a spirited comeback to overcome Neeza Kamat 3-2 (4-11, 11-5, 6-11, 11-6, 11-6).
Among the juniors, Chandan Caro proved unstoppable, clinching both the boys U-15 and boys U-17 titles with dominant performances against Vedant Wagle (3-0) and Ruhaan Shaikh (3-1), respectively.
Meanwhile, Ishita Colaso mirrored that success by capturing a superb double, defeating Aarna Lotlikar (3-0) in girls U-15 and Neeza Kamat (3-1) in girls U-17.
The younger categories too witnessed intense battles as Ishaan Colaso edged past Ashank Dalvi 3-2 (5-11, 11-6, 5-11, 11-8, 11-8) to clinch the boys U-11 crown, while Shaurya Dessai triumphed in girls U-11, defeating Aarna Walavalkar 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-4).
