Agalli lift Friendship Cup

Agalli defeated Chandrawaddo 6-5 via the tie-breaker to clinch the 1st Friendship Cup football tournament organised by Crasto Brothers in an exciting final outside Nehru Stadium (North), Fatorda on Sunday. The winners led 1-0 at half time.
Chandrwaddo were the first to strike rhythm and went into the lead when Vincent Barbosa bulged the net off a pass from Francis Andrade.
Changing over, Chandrawaddo increased the lead when Francis Andrade unleashed a left footer which eluded the Agali goalkeeper.
Stunned by quick blows, Agali regrouped and took the fight to the rival camp. Celto Fernandes reduced the margin with a perfect volley.
Agalli repeatedly raided the Chandrawaddo goal and were rewarded when Chadrawaddo defender handled the ball and the referee without hesitation awarded the spot kick. Cajie Fernandes made no mistake with the resultant spot kick in sending the rival goalkeeper in a wrong way.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Cajie Fernandes, Celto Fernandes, Bruno Fernandes and Lawrence Fernandes were successful for Agalli while Minguel Miranda, Vincent Barbosa and Vincent Faleiro netted for Chandawaddo.
Agalli were richer by Rs 7,777 while Chandrawaddo had to settle for Rs 5,555.
