MAINA: Aquem Baixo FC edged past Bello Boys, Maina 3-2 via the tie-breaker to lift the 13th Rebello Pandal Cup, at St Rita’s church ground, Maina, on Sunday.
Both teams played an attacking brand of football but failed to convert any goal at the end of regulation time. Leslie Costa of Aquem Baixo failed to convert in the 13th minute.
Two minutes later, Bello boys’ Tony’s shot sailed over the cross bar of Aquem.
In the resultant tie-breaker Aquem Baixo FC netted through Macklie, Leslie and Seldi while Raymond and Edwin scored for Belo Boys, Maina.
The winners were awarded Rs 25,000 while the runners up collected Rs 20,000 plus trophies.
Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, MLA of Curtorim constituency was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Mouren Rebello ZP Member, Parshuram Salwadi, Goan head coach for Services team, Fr Maurice Colaco, Bharat Lokapure and other dignitaries.
