CHINCHINIM: Bethany Convent HS, Sao Jose De Areal edged past St. Thomas High School, Cansualim 3-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the 4th St Joseph U-17 inter-school football tournament organised by Mount Mary school complex, at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, on Tuesday.
Bethany Convent netted through Deran Vaz in the14th minute.
Mistle Cardozo netted in the 35th minute while Sydney Fernandes scored in the 45th minute.
Ashwin Fernandes scored a brace in the second and 20th minutes for St. Thomas HS, Cansualim.
In the another match, Assumpta Convent High School, Sarzora downed Our Lady of Carmel High School, Curtorim 4-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals.
Dylan scored the first goal for Assumpta in the fourth minute.
Eleven minutes later, Malcolm Fernandes equalised for Carmel.
In the tie-breaker, Assumpta Convent High School, Sarzora netted through Clisson Furtado, Adriel Menezes and Nash Fernandes while only Snedon Almeida converted for Our Lady of Carmel High School, Curtorim.
