Better half keeps Sunil Chhetri going strong

PANJIM: Dribbling the wedding ball and the football haven’t been an easy task for the India skipper Sunil Chhetri, but the Bengaluru FC striker has been relieved by the assistance he received from his better half and his sister, which helps him stay ‘focused’ on his game.
“It’s tough and hectic” said Chhetri commenting on balancing the marriage inbetween the footballing season.  
The all-time India leading goal scorer made a special mention appreciating the assistance from his beloved.
“But thank God my sister and fiancé are taking care of all the preparation. I am just training hard,” said Chhetri while speaking to Herald.
Sunil is tying the knot with long-time girlfriend Sonam Bhattacharya, daughter of former Mohun Bagan great Subrata Bhattacharya, on December 4, 2017 in Kolkata between Bengaluru’s away games against FC Goa (Nov 30) and NorthEast United (December 8).
It is learnt that the sangeet ceremony will be held between Bengaluru FC’s first and second match. The reception will then be held on December 24 in Bengaluru, which Chettri has called his adopted city.
Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri will turn up for Bengaluru FC when the new Indian Super League season kicks off on November 17.  
Bengaluru FC have been one of the most consistent clubs in India, winning the I-League twice in four seasons. Now, they are all set to take their brand of football to the cash-rich ISL.
