MAPUSA: Football Club Siolim outplayed Pedem Bomm Sports Club 8-2 in GFA’s Third Division football league play-off match, Bardez zone, at Duler stadium, here, Monday. The winners led 3-0 at the breather.
FC Siolim took the lead in the 10th minute through Pushparaj Mandrekar’s coolly converted spot-kick. Thereafter, FC Siolim controlled the proceedings and doubled their advantage four minutes the before the break through Gopal Shirodkar while Pushparaj scored his brace in the 45th minute.
Post resumption, Pedem Bomm started attackingly in their quest and scored two quick goals in the 65th and 67th minutes through Vinayak Mulgaonkar and Varied Braganza to respectively to reduce the deficit, 3-2.
However, FC Siolim raised their tempo and responded quickly as two quick goals came from in 69th and 76th minutes through Pushparaj as the latter completed his hat-trick. Gopal and Arnold scored a goal each for FC Siolim to make it 7-2. Gopal then rounded off the tally in the 90th minute.
FC Siolim meet Milagres Sports Club, Mapusa in the quarters on November 19.
Guirim take on St Sebastian Sports Club, Mapusa, on Tuesday.
