MARGAO: Kricket Club, BITS Pilani crushed Paramount Cricket Club by 109 runs and qualified to the knock-out stage of GCA’s A Division cricket league (Mormugao Zone), at BITS Pilani ground, Sancoale, on Monday. Noorani Cricket Club topped the group followed by Kricket Club, BITS.
Electing to bat first, BITS scored 212 for 9 in the allotted 40 overs with Nagvendra Patil’s 55 runs and Ashrith’s 38 runs. For Paramounnt CC, Shubham was the most successful bowler with three wickets.
Chasing 213 for win, Paramount CC were bowled out on 103 in 32overs. Nilesh Naik was the main contributor with 22 runs while Shubham Bhavankar scored 21 runs. For BITS, Vijay Venkatsh and Ajay Kewat picked up three wickets each.
