UTORDA: CAC Sports Social Club, Cansaulim downed United Club of Benaulim 3-1 to enter the quarter-finals of 27th Lourdes Football festival tournament, organised by United Club of Utorda in memory of their past President Rocky Noronha, at Utorda SAG ground, on Monday.
Benaulim,’s Joswan Cardozo missed an easy chance in the fifth minute. Soon after that a free-kick taken by Cansaulim Kenneth Da Costa hit the crossbar .
Cansaulim scored off a penalty in the 17th minute through Prasad Bagli.
In the 30th minute, Benaulim missed a chance to equalise as Faisal Bepari’s shot went wide.
CAC scored their second goal through Kenneth Da Costa in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute CAC scored their third goal through Cansio Soares.
Cansaulim keeper saved a penalty in the 40th minute which was taken by Faisal Bepari.
Benaulim reduced the margin in the 65th through Clinton Fernandes.
