MAPUSA: Host Calangute Association Sports Club scored an impressive 4-2 win via tie-breaker over PVC Parra to move into the quarter-finals of the Hotel Goan Heritage Unit of Gulf Goans Soccer Cup organized by Calangute Association at Poriat ground, here, on Wednesday.
It was PVC Parra who took the lead in the 12th minute of play when Brian Fernandes saw his strike from inside the danger zone deflect off the Calangute defender and land into the far end of the goal, 1-0.
After several missed attempts, Rajkumar managed to net in the equalizer for Calangute Association from the penalty spot after PVC Parra defender was found guilty by the referee for bringing down Aniket inside the danger zone.
With none of the teams managing to score a match winner in the regulation time, the tie breaker was applied where Rajkumar, Sarvanand and Chandrakant scored for Calangute Association, while only Rowell Pinto shot on target for PVC Parra.
