SAO JOSE DE AREAL: Cortalim Villagers defeated Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 6-5 to move into of the semi-finals 35th St Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by St Jose de Areal, Padribhat ground, recently.
Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda through Joel Camara in the 6th minute had a chance to score but the Elvis Pereira of Cortalim Villagers tackled his move.
Cortalim Villagers too had a goal scoring opportunity through Royston Vaz but the former shot wide in the 12th minute.
Both teams played a defensive game that saw the play restricted to midfield for major part of the game.
There were no scores in the regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Cortalim netted through Royston Vaz, Elvis Pereira, Eldrich D’Silva, Hilario Miranda, Royal Carvalho, and Rizwan Gama while Roque Borges, Charlton Pereira, Minguel Barretto, Ravi Natekar and Francis Andrade converted for Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda.
