CAVELOSSIM: Cuncolim Union scored a huge victory over a fighting Young Strikers Club Benaulim 4-1 to move into the quarter-final match of the Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup 2022 organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and played at Fr Druston and Wellington ground Cavelossim on Wednesday.
The match came alive when Sandeep Desai latched on to a through pass by Trijoy Dias in the second minute to put Cuncolim Union 1-0 up.

Stung by the reverse Benaulim fought back and dominated the game in the next quarter. In the 15th minute a through pass by Arif Pathan was cleverly chested by Joswan Cardozo who made no mistake when he shot in to the left corner of the goal beating Cuncolim keeper to level the score 1-1.
In the second half Keegan Fernandes of Cuncolim Union restored the lead when in a solo effort his stiff grounder entered the top corner of the goal to make the score 2-1.
Towards the end Daulat Desai and Sandeep Desai scored a goal each to take their team into the quarter-finals with the score 4-1.
