RAIA: Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado, Cuncolim, 6-5 via tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup football tournament at Padribhat ground, on Monday.
Both teams gave their best but couldn’t score any goals till full-time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Curtorim Gymkhana netted through Freddy Hilario, Floyd Antao, Rhay Dias, Elton Mascarenhas, Aliston Fernandes and Vernon Fernandes, while for Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado, Mathew Gomendes, Ansh Patil, Viraz Velip, Ravesh Velip and Shankar Rao scored. Vernon Fernandes of Curtorim Gymkhana was presented the man-of-the-match award by Bento Andrew.
