PANJIM: Goa’s Dayne Coelho finished in the race 11 and took the gun in Race 12 but fell short overall due to the two races he had to forego and finished third overall in the RS:X mens category on Day 4 of the All India Board Sailing Championship organised by the Goa Yachting Association, at Dona Paula, on Sunday.
Jerome and Manpreet Singh of AYN Mumbai clinched the Gold and Silver respectively.
In the RS:X Youth category, Devesh Shukla of EMESC Bhopal won Gold while in the RS:One Youth category Kedarnath Tiwari of EMESC Bhopal won Gold with Ishwariya Ganesh of TNSA Tamil Nadu and Keona Rajani of GYA Goa clinched Silver and Bronze respectively. In the Techno 293 OD Youth class Kenoa Rajani of Goa won Gold while Avelino Fernandes of GYA won Silver.
The Raceboard Grandmasters Gopal Amin of GYA won Gold while Cdr. Madhulal Sharma of INWTC Kochi and Harish Patro finished in second and third positions. In the Grandmasters category Ghanshyam of BSSC Uttarakhand clinched the Gold.
In the Raceboard Mens category, Kamlapati and Mane of EMESC finshed 1st and 2nd while Imitzulu of INWTC Vizag finished in 3rd position. In the Raceboard open category Kamlapati bagged Gold while Katya Coelho of Goa clinched silver and Mane finished third.
At the Prize distribution ceremony the chief guest Capt. Jitendra Dixit the Jt. Honorary Sec. Gen. Of Yachting Assocition of India (YAI) in his address congratulated the sailors for their wonderful performance and assured maximum support from YAI for windsurfing. The other dignitaries present were Capt. Deelip Dohnde, Cesar Menezes President Emeritus GYA, Siddharth Satardekar President and Derrick Menezes President BSAI and Pannirselvam Mookken Jury Chairman.
