MAPUSA: Bardez Veterans defeated a spirited Sports Authority of India ( SAI) Veterans by a solitary goal to win the 1st All Goa SAI Veterans football tournament organised by the Sports Authority of India, under floodlight at Duler Stadium Mapusa, on Saturday.
Lino Pereira scored the lone goal.
Bardez goalkeeper Fausto Lobo who replaced an injured Mario Aguiar was the Hero-of-the-Match as he saved thrice.
Earlier, Verna Veterans defeated Candolin Veterans 5-3 via the tie-breaker after the teams played out a 1-1 draw.
Sushil Diwakar, Sports Authority of India Sports Hostel coach was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Noel E Fernandes, CGST Executive Officer,Goa.
