PANJIM: Fr Agnel High School, Pilar defeated Don Bosco High School Green 2-1 in the final to emerge champions in the 12th U-12 All-Goa Don Bosco Sporting Clube de Goa invitational football cup organised by Sporting Clube de Goa, at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, on Saturday.

Fr Agnel High School were the better side in the ultimate match and deservingly led 2-0 at the break with goals coming from Famuel Fernandes and Rahul Barel.
In the second-half, Don Bosco High School Green, who were otherwise unbeaten in the tournament, got lively in the final minutes of the game and managed to score through their talisman Vallan Fernandes, however, they couldn’t find the equaliser as Fr Agnel High School’s defence were hard to beat.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Fr Agnel High School got the better of Dona Leonor Memorial High School by a solitary goal, scored by Aldon while Don Bosco High School Green eased past Don Bosco High School Yellow 2-0 with Vallan scoring both the goals.
A total of 16 teams participated in the one-day tournament which was played on a league and knockout format.
Bro Nigel Pinto was the chief guest for the valedictory function and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Sporting Clube de Goa CEO Welvin Menezes, Tournament Director and SCG Team Manager Angelo Albuquerque, SCG Head Coach Savio Vaz, Junior team coaches Vikram Mane, Anthony Vas, Don Bosco High School PE Teacher and SCG U-14 Coach Francisco Raposo, former SCG CEO Victor Fernandes and others.
