PANJIM: The general body meeting of Goa Athletics Association (GAA) wherein the elections to the new managing committee will be held, will take place on January 27 at SAG hall, Campal at 11 a.m.
Francisco Sardinha, MP, president of the association stated that the elections will be held by the returning officer as per the constitution of the association with officials of Athletics Federation of India, Goa Olympic Association and SAG attending it as observers.
Sardinha stated that only those members registered with the state body would be allowed to attend the meeting and vote and that the names of all eligible members would be displayed on the notice board and that no other person will be allowed and that there is no question of enrolling new members.
The dates and modalities of hosting the state athletic meet will also be discussed and finalized, added Sardinha.
Some members pointed out the notices were sent to all members mentioning the agenda which was discussed at the executive committee meeting and that no other person except the president was duly authorized to call for the general body meeting.
