Gaura Vaddo scored a solitary goal victory over Tivai Vaddo in the finals of 7-a-side inter-ward football tournament organised by Umtta Vaddo Boys at Calangute Association ground, here on Sunday.
The all-important goal was scored by Vijay Parsekar in the first session. Tivai Vaddo boys tried their best to come on level terms but a goal eluded them.
Gaura Vaddo were proud winners of the Umtta Vaddo Boys Trophy and Rs. 8,000 while Tivai Vaddo had to be content with the runners-up trophy and Rs 5,000.
Velency Silveira (Tivai Vaddo) was declared best goalkeeper while Francis (Tivai Vaddo) won the highest scorer award.
Agnelo Fernandes, MLA and EDC Chairman was the chief guest. Anthony Menezes was the guest of honour.
Alex Miranda, ex-Dempo footballer, Fr. Clifford Cardozo, asst parish priest of St. Alex Church, Calangute and Gabriel Fernandes were the special invitees. The chief guest and others gave away the trophies.
