PANJIM: The Goa Football Association (GFA) has initiated necessary action following concerns raised by a club regarding a suspected case of match-fixing.
Speaking after the Executive Committee meeting held on Tuesday, GFA President Caitano Fernandes stated that a preliminary investigation has commenced into the matter.
The association has submitted its initial report to the GFA Ethics Committee, which will now proceed with a detailed inquiry.
To ensure transparency and integrity, the GFA has appointed retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandesh Chodankar as the Integrity Officer to lead the investigation.
The association has also urged the clubs, players, former players, officials and members of the public who may have any information related to the issue to come forward and share details confidentially at [email protected].
“The identity of individuals providing information will be kept strictly confidential,” the association assured.
The GFA remains committed to upholding the spirit of fair play and ensuring that the integrity of Goan football is preserved.
