PANJIM: Goa State cadet table tennis team stunned Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Academy with a convincing 3-0 win in the pre-quarters of the Cadet and Sub-Junior National Table Tennis Championship being held at Siliguri.
The duo, Nagesh Verenkar and Shantesh Mhapsecar were unfazed by their opponents who are selected amongst the best talents from all over the country and trained by the Chinese coaches.
Later in the quarter-finals, Nagesh and Shantesh stamped their authority with enterprising performance in beating Manipur 3-0, assuring Goa a medal.
Earlier in the qualifying match, Goa beat Rajasthan 3-0.
