After an amazing 24-0 demolition of Himachal Pradesh in the opening match, the Goa U-19 girls will take on Sikkim in the 9th Football Junior Nationals at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh on Saturday.
Sikkim too are in great form with three points, after defeating Kerala convincingly 5-0 in their opener. Whoever wins this match will be virtually guaranteed a berth in the second round, which makes these 90 minutes even more exciting.
Goa coach Maymol Rocky respects the way Sikkim play and believes that scoring early will tilt the match in Goa’s favour. “The Sikkim girls play a good game but my girls are faster and I have told them to put pressure and try to score within the first ten minutes.”
