Hari Singh Cricket Academy, set aside the challenge of Sports Authority of Goa by one run to emerge champions in All-India Under-16 invitation cricket tournament organised by Everest Sports Club at SAG ground, Fatorda on Saturday.
Hari Singh Cricket were bundled out for 157 in 29.3 overs with Atul Chandela striking a stupendous 77. Chandela hit 16 boundaries in his knock of 77. Tushar Kaushik (37) was the other batsman who contributed valuable runs.
For SAG, Gurvinder Velip was the wrecker-in-chief claiming 5 for 16. Sherom Vaz claimed 3 for 32 while Anmog Dessai took one wicket.
The target appeared easily within the reach, but Goa faltered and made 156 for 9 in 40 overs. Shubham Naik topscored with 42. Mahesh Rao (38), Anmogh Baikood (15) chipped in useful runs for SAG.
Shubham Tyagi was the most successful bowler scalping 4 for 20 while Jeetu Sharma captured 2 for 17
Atul Chandela of Hari Singh was adjudged best batsman. Gurvinder Velip of SAG and Shubham Tyagi of Hari Singh were named best bowler and man-of-the final respectively.
Prakash Velip was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
