PANJIM: ICSC Paroda defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 5-4 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-final of the 13th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup football tournament, at Chandor Church grounds on Sunday.
In the first half, PY Nuvem scored in the 5th minute when Jerose Oliveira gave a defence splitting pass to Neves Noronha whose power packed shot gave no chance to the Paroda goalkeeper.
Paroda took the fight to Nuvem and in the 15th minute Ivon Costa scored the equaliser with a brilliant volley.
On a counter attack Anthony Dias of Paroda missed an easy sitter to give them the lead.
The first half ended with no further addition to the score line.
In the second half Nuvem were reduced to 10 men in the 45th minute as Jerose Oliveira was shown straight red card.
In the tie-breaker, Manesh Oliveira, Anthony Dias, Patrick Lima, Clide Travasso and Jackson Colaco were successful from the spot.
John Baretto, Inacio Colaco, Godfrey Mascarenhas and Hayson Velho scored while Shubert Pinto’s kick was saved by the Paroda goalkeeper.
