MARGAO: A second half strike by striker Jade Colaco enabled Ambelim Sports Club to eke out St Anthony’s Sports Club, Assolda 1-0 to cruise into the quarterfinal of All Goa Mandopa Cup inter village football tournament organized by Mandopa Sporting Club at Mandopa ground.
There was no score at the interval .
Both the teams began on a cautious note, as a result the play was confined to midfield. There were few attempts at either goal.
After the break, Ambelim Sports Club showed urgency and tested the rival goalkeeper with sorties. The all important goals was scored in the 50th minute when Jade Colaco unleashed a volley which crashed into the net .
St Anthony’s tried their best to neutralized the lead but rival alert defenders frustrated the attacks.
