MARGAO: A triple strike by forward John Colaco helped Arlem Youth Association trounce Shiroda Youth Club 8-1 in Group B Salcete Zone GFA Third Division league, at Camurlim ground, Wednesday .There was no score at lemon break.
After a barren first half, Arlem Youth Association were a dominant lot in the second session. John broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when he slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot.
The goal helped Arlem mount tremendous pressure on their rivals and Jolliton Dias increased the tally with a brace in the 62nd and 67th minute.
As the match progressed, it was a one way traffic as Arlem demolished the rival defence.
John struck his brace in the 70th minute and three minutes later completed his hat-trick.
In the 75th minute, Joe Pango joined the party.
Shiroda managed to score the consolation goal through the boots of Joel Colaco.
Unfazed, Arlem added more goals through the boots of Ashley Souza in the 87th and 88th minutes.
In Group B at SAG ground, Assolna, Cuncolim Union outplayed Youth Welfare Sports Club, Assolna 6-0 after leading 3-0 at half time.
The high light of the day was splendid brace each from Valky Fernandes Daulat Dessai and Leander Coutinho.
In Group C, at Rosary ground, Navelim, Navelim Sporting Club thrashed Dramapur Sports Club 5-1. In Group E, at Nagoa ground, Pax of Naoga Sports Club made short work of Parish Youth, Nuvem 9-1. In Group A, at Paroda ground, Chandor Club rallied from behind to hold Deao Sports Club in a 3-3 draw. Deao Sports Club were leading 2-0 at the break.
In Group D, at DYSA ground, Curtorim, Dicarpale Sports Club rallied from behind to hold St Sebastiao Youth Club, Fatorda in a 1-1 draw.
