MAPUSA: Kapil Hoble scored a brace as Goa defeated Karnataka 4-1 in the second phase of AIFF’s U-14 festival at Kalyani, West Bengal, Thursday. Goa led 2-1 at the break.
In the second session Carlton Rebello and Cahill Gomes added to the scoreline for Goa. Goa picked up 3 green cards.
In the afternoon match Goa overcame Chandigarh 4-0. Vineet Bugde, Sagar Salukhe and Devesh Mulaunkar scored in the first half, while Aniket Chopdekar added the fourth after the interval. Goa collected a further two green cards.
On Thursday Sagar Salukhe scored a brace as Goa trounced Uttarakhand 6-0. Reagan Ferrao, Aaron Rodrigues, Fernando Araujo and Mecugeen Fernandes were also on target for Goa.
In the second half Goa played with a different eleven, but could not add to the tally. Frustratingly, Goa picked up their first yellow card of the tournament, which meant that they had 10 points deducted. However, Goa were awarded one green card.
