PANJIM: A strokeful century by captain Ketan Nandrekar saw Mushtifund High School Cujira score a thumping 250-run victory over Progress High School, Panjim and move into the semi-finals in the U-16 Tiswadi Taluka Dilip Sardessai inter-school cricket tournament, organised by Goa Cricket Association.
At Campal grounds, Ketan, who had scored a superb 89 against Dona Leonora School, continued his good form to score a century.
Ketan’s 122 came off 87 balls with 21 hits to the fence and a huge six.
Batting first, Mushtifund put on a record 326 all out in 39.2 overs.
Ketan Nandrekar (122), Ajinkya Chari (43) and Deeshank Kunkalikar (44), Soham Parrikar (26), Aryan Mashelkar (13) and Yatish Bandekar (12) were the scorers for Mushtifund.
For Progress, Anand Adhikari 3/49 was pick of the bowlers for Mushtifund. Zaheer Savodegor (2), Manish Kashyap, Shardul Shet and Salim Shimpigar were the other wicket takers.
Chasing a mammoth total for win, Progress were all out for just 76 in 13.5 overs.
Shardul Shet (38) and Anand Adhikari (18) were the only contributors to the total.
Aryan Mashelkar 3/13 and Yatish Bandelakr 3/0 were the pick of the bowlers. Sadanand Nagvekar (2), Soham Parrikar and Ahraaz Shaik were the other wicket takers for Mushtifund.
