Livrament Boys of Arlem, Cuncolim Boys prevail

CURCHOREM: Livrament Boys of Arlem defeated Tuff Boys of Quepem 7-4 via tiebreaker in the inaugural match of Annual All Goa 11-a-side football tournament organised by Guardian Angel Boys at Figuereido ground, Curchorem on Tuesday.

The teams started on an attacking mode. Quepem took the lead when striker Jovito Fernandes slotted past the rival keeper with a snap shot in the 12th minute of word go from the match referee.

Stung by the reverse, Arlem went all out in search of the equalizer and started attacking their opponents and soon in the 15th minute they succeeded through their striker Brian Fernandes. Later in the 18th minute they increased their tally through their striker Joy Gauncar. The joy of Arlem doubled when their striker Brian again added one more goal to their tally.

Changing ends, Quepem missed couple of scoring chances while trying their level best to neutralise the lead and in the 10th minute they managed to add one goal through Godwin Fernandes and finally they got a chance to neutralised the lead of Arlem at the fag end of the match through Jovito.

In the tie-breaker Livrament Boys proved better than Quepem Boys.

Earlier, Chief Guest Fr. Jovier Barreto, the assistant parish priest of Guardian Angel church, Curchorem, declared the tournament open by kicking the ball in the presence of club officials and the team members.

Later in another match Cuncolim Boys defeated Kakoda United by 4-0 through their strikers Schillaci, Denvil, Joel and Daulat.
