MES College win kabaddi title for the fourth consecutive time

PANJIM: The MES’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, won for the fourth consecutive time the Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Men Championship 2023-24 organised by Goa University, outplaying Swami Vivekananda VM’s College of Commerce, Bori, 45-35, at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Taleigao Plateau, recently.

Earlier, in the semis-finals, MES’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, outsmarted Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Quepem, by a score of 73-23.

Swami Vivekananda VM’s College of Commerce, Bori, defeated Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts and Commerce, Canacona, by a score 44-26. 

Best player was awarded to Lohit Naik of MES’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar. In total, 25 men’s teams participated. Chief guest for the presentation ceremony Prof Nilesh Borde, Vice Dean (Academics), Goa Business School, Goa University, along with Balachandra Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, presented the medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up.   

MES’s Vasant Joshi College team: Husain Yalavigi, Rahul Nagavat, LohitNaik, Ali Ahmed Goundi, NavinGoudar, Rajeev Pawar, Beelu Lamani, Anand Madar, Suresh, Hadpad, Sachidanand Biradar, Siddhant Lamani and Kartik Golsangi.
