Nerul opened their account through Julius D’Costa at the start of the second session which was later cancelled by Margao through Francis Andrade of a pass received from Cliff Baretto. The former gave Margao SC the lead after heading in of a cross by Joel Camara.
Nerul SC fought brilliantly in the last ten minutes of the match and levelled terms through Siddharth Shirodkar as Julius provided the assist.
In the penalty shoot-out, Xavier Estrocio, Deepraj Sangelkar, Sarvesh Dabholkar, Siddhesh Shirodkar, Debu Sangelkar, Dnyaneshwar Madgaokar, Julius D’costa and Paul Cardozo scored for Nerul Sports Club while Michael Faleiro, Cliff Baretto, Alfred Noronha, Edgar Noronha, Francis Andrade, Charlton Pereira and Danny Dias were on target for Margao.
