CALANGUTE: With the newly laid cricket pitch with covered nets at St Britto High School, Mapusa, the students will get an opportunity to develop their skills to excel in the game with net practice at their service.
MLA of Calangute Constituency Michael Lobo inaugurated the newly laid pitch in presence of Headmaster Fr Cedric Fernandes, Fr Basil Fernandes, Fr Anand, teachers and students.
The infrastructure has been sponsored by Lobo with the support of cricket fan Shivram Parsekar.
Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said, “I hope the infrastructure of net practice will provide an opportunity to the students of the school to excel in the field of cricket which has generated greater interest in the country and our State. The government of Goa should also extend its support and assistance in providing similar facilities wherever possible for development of sports in schools and State.”
Headmaster Fr Cedric expressed his sincere thanks to the MLA for his generosity and also thanked Parsekar for his efforts and interest.
Student Saish Haldankar also thanked Lobo for providing them the opportunity to excel in the cricket field.
