PANJIM: Parish Youth Nuvem mesmerized CAC Cansaulim, 5-2 to advance to the next round of the Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup 2014 organized by Pax of Nagoa Sports Club, at Nagao ground on Sunday.
Nuvem started like well oiled machine and succeeded in scoring their first goal through Joe Colaco in the 10th minute of the game off a fine corner kick taken by Jerose Oliveira. Nuvem made a number of forays into rival’s citadel and succeeded in the 15th minute to score their 2nd goal through the boots of Joe Colaco, again a short pass given by Jerose Oliveiro.
The CAC boys seemed in disarray for some time with Nuvem showing no respite though they missed the chances that came their way.
In the 20th minute of the game Nuvem scored their 3rd goal through the boots of Remy Colaco. Nuvem pumped in their 4th goal again scored by Joe Colaco to bring in is hat-trick of the tournament off a pass from Arich Pereira. At half time Nuvem led 4-0.
On changing the ends, Cansaulim showed some resistance and started to play to their plan but failed to capitalize the chances that came their way. In the 8th minute of the second half Nuvem lads added further misery with their 5th goal and consolidated their position.
Elvino Fernandes scored the first goal for Cansaulim in the 50th minute. At the fag end of the game, CAC were lucky to get a penalty kick and was converted by Elvino Fernandes.
