Oxel Parish Youth triumph

Oxel Parish Youth defeated Bastora Parish Youth 1-0 in the finals of 5-a-side inter-parish football tournament organised by St. Michael’s Parish Youth, Anjuna at Anjuna ground.
Twenty teams from Candolim, Siolim and Mapusa deaneries participated. The tournament was declared open by the Asst. Parish Priest, Fr. Constancio Mendes.
Oxel PY were awarded Rs.5,000 and a trophy while Bastora PY had to be content with Rs. 3,000 and a trophy.
Lavino Rebello, Anjuna-Caisua Sarpanch and GFA Executive Committee member and Bardez Zonal Secretary was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Parish Priest Fr. Thomas Gonsalves, guest of honour Pedro Mendonca and special invitee Maria Fernandes.
