MAPUSA: Pilerne SC had to wait for the penalty shootout before they registered a 5-4 win over Sai Avtaar SC in the Goveia Cup 2023 held at Colvale church ground, on Thursday.
In the 8th minute, Vinayak Mulgaonkar gave Sai Avtaar colts the lead with an angular strike of Umesh Mainkar pass, 1-0. It did not take long for Pilerne SC to level terms as Sanket Jotkar scored with a brilliant solo effort, 1-1.

In the penalty shootout, Pilerne SC proved to be better shooters winning by 4-3 margin. Kreepal Dharghalkar of Sai Avtaar received the man-of-the-match award from Uday Lingudkar, Goa Football Assocation Executive Committee Member.
