Politics Cricket Club set aside the challenge of AEM Warriors, Curchorem by 10 wickets to emerge champions of 2nd Babu Brothers T20 cricket tournament organised by Babu Brothers Sports Association, Balli at SAG sports complex, Fatorda on Sunday.
AEM Warriors took the first strike at the wicket and were 125 all out in 20 overs. Amar Arkas topscored with a valuable 31. He was well supported by Vikas Desai who scored 20.
The target appeared decent with Abhijeet Bhandari striking a magnificent 65. However, Politics achieved the target with 10 wickets in hand. Abhijeet Bhandari of Politics was adjudged man-of-the-finals and man-of-the-series. Politics were richer by Rs 70,000 while AEM Warriors had to be content with Rs 30,000.
Chief Minister, Digamber Kamat was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Quepem MLA and president, Babu Brothers Sports Association, Chandrakant Kavlekar.
Brief score: AEM Warriors 125 all out in 20 overs. Bharat Arkas and Sagar Gosavi (18 each), Vikas Desai (20), Harish Naik (15), Harish Kutti (11), Amar Arkas (31). Shailesh Miskin 3-22, Balkrishna Jadeja 3-18, Bhavik Gaur 2-16, Manish Pednekar 1-33. Lost to Politics CC, 128 without loss in 14.3 overs. Sachin Sardesai not out 37 and AbhijeetBhandari not out 85.
