MAPUSA: Progress High School, Sanquelim drubbed St Anthony’s HS, Duler 4-0 to clinch the Goans Sports Association-Mumbai Rolling Cup, organised by Assagao Union HS and played at Assagao Union HS, ground, on Thursday.
Sanquelim dominated the game wherein they time and again attacked the rival citadel and scored two goals in either halves.
Aryan Salunke opened the account in the 15th minute as he drilled a rasping strike from inside the box. Two minutes before the breather, Aryan Vaigankar doubled the lead with a neat placement, 2-0.
On crossing over, Sanquelim lads pumped in two more goals through Ronit Travasso and Cyden Saldanha, 4-0.
Prasad Surlekar coach of Progress HS praised his team for all their hard work throughout the tournament. Altogether 16 schools participated in the tournament.
Progress HS Sanquelim received the winners cash prize of Rs. 5,000 along with trophy and medals, while St. Anthony’s HS, Duler had to be content with Rs 3,000 and medals.
Chief guest Steffi Cardozo, Asst Project Officer SAG gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of guest of honour Commander Hooda, Edric DeSouza, Chairman of the Management of Assagao Union HS, Sagar Kesarkar, Chairman of PTA and other dignitaries.

Amonkar); Best Goalkeeper: Aman Choudary (Progress HS); First goal of the final: Aryan Salunke (Progress HS); Deserving player of the tournament: Pratik Kale (St Anthony’s HS, Duler); Highest scorer of the tournament: Aryan Salunke (Progress HS).
