PANJIM: Raia Football Club scored a hard fought 4-3 win over Salcete Football Club in the U-14 league organised by Goa Football Association, at Curtorim ground, on Friday.
Reis Cruz opened the scoring for Raia FC in the 11th minute of the game. But in the 19th minute Mistle Cardozo made no mistake to level things for Salcete FC. Reis Cruz then netted in two quick goals in the 32nd and 41st minute of the game to complete his hat trick. Velroy Carvalho added another for Raia FC in the 43rd minute to give his team a 4-1 lead.
Moving over, Salcete FC came out strong with goals from Vivaldy Travasso and Mistle Cardozo in the 59th and 63rd minute to bring the score to 4-3. Salcete FC tried hard to level the score but the game ended in favour of Raia FC.
In another game held at Cavelossim ground, Pinto’s YC of Baradi defeated Cana Benaulim SA 4-1.
Frenz Cardozo (11th minute), Sheldon Pinto (23rd minute), Sidroy Pereira (49th minute) and Felvis Colaco (67th minute) netted it in for the winners while Airon Fernandes scored a consolation goal for the Benaulim boys.
At the Astro Turf, Fatorda, P.Y Nuvem beat Verna SC 4-0. Goals from Ewan Clemente, Zeferino Colaco, Nikeel Chittchuti and Roisson Baretto helped Nuvem beat Verna SC.
Ave Maria AWC got the better of Rosman Cruz Nagoa SC 3-0 in a game held at Ambelim ground.
Veron Rodrigues, Cybern Fernandes and Blayne Rodrigues scored for the winners.
At Poriat ground, Goan FC had an easy 3-0 win over Goa United SA. Salgen Dias scored a brace (5th and 13th minute) and Ryan Dias (35th minute) added another to give their team a comfortable win.
At Siolim ground, St. Anthony’s SC beat Penha de France 4-1. Hrishikesh Shirodkar’s hat trick and Nilesh Kamar’s goal helped St. Anthony’s win while Gaurav Arolkar scored for Penha de France.
Arpora Sporting Club defeated Anjuna Gymkhana 3-0 at Anjuna ground. Soham Naroji, Cristian Gomes and Diwakar Chowdary scored for the Arpora team.
At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Young Strikers Club beat DBO Fatorda 2-0. Baclidom Braganza (14th minute) and Amaigue Fernandes (23rd minute) scored for Young Strikers.
In the last game of the day, El Shaddai SCC defeated Candolim Sport Club 2-1. Topon Mirj scored a brace El Shaddai SCC while Aaron Rodrigues scored one for the Candolim club.
