Ranji Trophy: Goa earn 3 points in drawn match

PANJIM: Goa earned three points while Chandigarh secured a point as the closely contested Ranji Trophy Group C encounter ended in a draw, at the Goa Cricket Association Academy ground, Povorim, on Monday. 

Darshan Misal of the Goa team emerged as a significant force, claiming five wickets for 110 runs during the Chandigarh’s innings.

In the second innings, Goa added 25 runs for no loss before the match concluded.

Earlier, in the first innings, Goa, batting first, posted a commanding total of 618/7 before declaring. Chandigarh faced the challenge with determination, reaching a total of 479 runs in 160 overs. Kunal Mahajan was the standout performer, scoring an impressive 147 runs, well-supported by Raj Bawa (90) and Arslan Khan (84).

Darshan Misal’s outstanding bowling performance, particularly his five-wicket haul, earned him the well-deserved title of Player of the Match.
