In the men’s final, Ravi Joshi of Bhavnagar outplayed C E Gosavi of Mumbai 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 11-6 and 11-5.
In the semi-finals, Ravi defeated VK Unadkat of Rajkot 11-8, 11-7, 11-8, and 11-5 while C E Gosavi beat Amol Jade of Mumbai 11-9, 9-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-6 and 11-5.
In the women’s final, Shruti Talnikar of Thane outsmarted Prajakta Tipale of Thane 11-8, 11-9, 5-11, 11-9 and 11-7. In the semi-final, Shruti outplayed Mrunmayee Mhatre of Mumbai 12-10, 12-10, 6-11, 11-4, 7-11 and 11-5 while Prajakta got the better of Sushma Mogre of Thane 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 and 11-4.
The top four finishers in both, men’s and women’s section will represent LIC’s Western Zone at All-India LIC Games which are scheduled to be held in November.
