MARGAO: Our Lady of Rosary HS Fatorda, Rosary HS Navelim, St Xavier’s HS Velim and Our Lady of Snow’s HS Raia moved into the second round of Salcete Taluka under-14 inter-school football tournament organized by DSYA at Manora ground, Raia, Wednesday.
In the first match, OL of Rosary HS beat St Francis Xavier’s HS Macasana 4-3 via the tie-breaker. Jobert Almeida opened the scoring for St Francis Xavier’s School while Rohit Naik equalized for OL of Rosary. In the tie-breaker, Joel Soares, Reagan Araujo and Rohit Naik scored for OL of Rosary HS while Melisio Fernandes and Jobert Almeida scored for St. Francis Xavier’s.
In the second match, Rosary HS of Navelim grounded Cuncolim United HS 4-0 margin. Alerol Pereira scored a brace while Ronaldo Pereira and Maxton Costa scored one each for the winners.
OL of Snow’s HS of Raia easily outwitted St Mary’s HS of Varca 2-0. Roland Vaz scored brace for the winners.
Riding on a four-goal blitz by Stanley Fernandes, St Xavier’s HS of Velim trounced Our Lady of Succor HS of Nagoa 4-1. James D’Sa reduced the margin for Our Lady of Succor.
