RAIA: Saligao United scored a 5-4 win via tie-breaker over Agustias Sports Club, Pomburpa, to move into the quarter-finals of Nerul Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament 2024 organised by Nerul Sports Club, at Nerul Sports Club ground, on Thursday.
Vivek Arondekar of Agustias SC nicely dribbled the ball in the penalty area but failed to score in the 16th minute. Vivek again failed to take a lead of a through ball by Akshay Shirodkar. Vivek’s cross was very well defended by Saligao United defender.

In the second half, Deepesh Shirodkar of Agustias SC failed to convert one to one opportunity into a goal. A long range shot from Nester Dias of Saligao United hit the crossbar in the 58 minute.
The match ended with a goalless draw. In the resultant tiebreaker, Saligao United scored through Charnel Fernandes, Nester Dias, Cresto D’Souza, Latesh Mandrekar and Tarak Kandolkar, while Agustias SC netted through Bhuvan Parwar, Rohan Naik, Joystan Lobo and Deepesh Shirodkar.
