Sangolda Lightning outsmarted Nerul Sports Club 6-4 via the sudden-death tie-breaker in the Inter-village soccer tournament organised by Siolim Sodiem Sports and Cultural Association at St Anthony ground, Siolim on Monday.
Nerul took a well deserved lead in the 20th minute through Abhijit Govenkar. Sangolda, who are strong contenders to lift the trophy increased the pace and scored the equalizer in the 55th minute through Agnelo Quadros. The score at full time was 1-1.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Daniel Fernandes, Agnelo Quadros, Govind Balekad, Swanand Naik and Joseph D’Costa scored for Sangolda while Avinash Shirodkar, Sidarth Shirodkar, Gautam Naik were on target for Nerul.
