SANVORCOTTO-CUNCOLIM: SC Davorlim got the better of Betalbatim SC 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the 10th Cuncolim Union inter-village rolling football tournament organised by Cuncolim Union, at Cuncolim ground, Cuncolim, on Tuesday.
Both teams started the match with forefront moves and just in the second minute Davorlim’s Mark Borges’ left footer failed to pop up into Betalbatim net.
A minute later, Betalbatim’s Travis Barretto’s move was foiled by Davorlim’s Cidroy Miranda. Later in the fifth minute, Betalbatim’s Klusner Pereira opened the score-line with a direct free-kick. However, the joy was short-lived as Mack Borges equalised in the tenth minute.
In the second half the ball was mostly confined in the midfield play.
Both teams’ strikers were trying their best to score but both teams defence line protected the strikers from scoring as the score-line remained 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, SC Davorlim netted through Robinson Colaco, Venson Furtado, Agnelo Colaco, Cydroy Pereira and Mark Borges while Klusner Pereira, Manushan Fernandes, Sherwin Costa and Ashley Fernandes scored for Betalbatim SC.
SC Davorlim will now meet the winners of Mandopa SC and Ambelim SC in the semi-finals on October 19.
