RAIA: United Sports Club of Seraulim entered the final defeating CAC Cansaulim 5-4 via tie-breaker in the All-Goa Inter-Village Seraulim Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim at the panchayat ground.
Although, USC Seraulim dominated the game in the first half and had most of the ball possession, ran out of ideas and were unable to break the deadlock. At half time, the score read 0-0.

In the second half, same fate continued with USC Seraulim dominating the game but no dangerous moves to score goals.
CAC Cansaulim on the other hand with their smart midfielder Chadwick Furtado was seen spraying the ball to the wings which resulted in some dangerous moves and goal scoring opportunities with Aaron being the thorn for the USC Seraulim’s defence. Ashley and Selroy managed the defence well. Credit has to be given to both the keepers who brought one excellent save each to keep the score sheet clean.
The game ended in a goalless draw. In the resultant tie-breaker, USC Seraulim proved to be better shooters scoring in the sudden death.
Earlier, Cuncolim Union had to sweat it out to edge past Nuvem Sports Club 5-4 via tie-breaker to book final berth. The first half no doubt belonged to Nuvem Sports Club and had three tries missing the goal by inches. They created gaps and combined well as a team, however, were unable to score. At half time, both teams failed to score.
The second half witnessed an entirely different Cuncolim Union team who took charge and started dominating and scored their first goal through Vayne Pures in the 33rd minute. It was then a Nuvem SC who took charge and started pressing for an equaliser. Their efforts bore fruits when Godfrey Mascarenhas scored from a close range giving no chance to the keeper under the Cuncolim Union crossbar.
Both teams settled for a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time. In the resultant tie-breaker, Cuncolim Union made it to the final by scoring all their five penalties. Nuvem SC penalty was saved by Cuncolim Union keeper. USC Seraulim will now meet Cuncolim Union in the final slated for January 28.
