PANJIM: Shrimati High School, Velguem scored a 144-run victory over Government High School, Bhuipal in under-14 President’s Cup inter-school tournament, organised by Goa Cricket Association for season 2013-14.
In Bicholim/Sattari Zone 20 overs match played at Bordem Communidade Lakhrem ground, Bicholim, batting first, Shrimati scored 190 for 7. Nikhil Amonkar (43), Omkar Chari (21) and
Mandar Madkaikar (40) were the top run getters.
In reply, Government High School were bundled out for 46.
Omkar did the major damage to Government HS by taking three wickets while Nikhil and Nitin also played their role by claiming two wickets each.
In another match, St John Cross High School, Sanquelim won by two wickets.
Batting first, Government High School, Amona scored 109 for three.
Shivraj not out for 39 and Aman 25 were the top scorers.
In reply, St John Cross HS got the better of Government HS by scoring110 for 8.
Earlier, chief guest Attorney of Bordem Communidade Tukaram Pal declared the tournament open in the presence of President of Bicholim Cricket Club Rajesh Patnekar and Vice President of GCA Sanjay Kanekar.
