CHORAO: Softball Strikers defeated Dhamaka Sports Club 4-3 in the Men’s section to clinch the title at the All-Goa invitational Softball tournament, organized by Chorao Youth, at Saude ground, Chodan, Chorao, recently.
In Women’ event, Siddharth Bandodkar Higher Secondary School, Velguem defeated Softball Stunners, Panjim 3-2 to clinch the trophy.
Individual trophies in the Men’s category were awarded to Best catcher: Pratap Vaigankar (Dhamaka), Best pitcher: Swapnil Parsekar (Dhamka), Best hitter: Michael D’Mello (Softball Strikers), Best fielder: Devesh Kerekar (VGS, Kerem), Best player: Amey Bhandari (Softball Strikers).
Individual trophies in the Women’s category were awarded to Best catcher: Neha (Siddharth Bandodkar HSS), Best pitcher: Ashlesh Naik (Softball Stunners), Best hitter: Nekata Fadte (Softball Youngs), Best fielder: Sneha (Softball Lovers) and Best player: Shreya Pagoji (Softball Stunners).
Santosh Sawant presented trophies in the presence of Dharma Chodankar, GN Hawaldar, Vaigankar and other dignitaries.
