MAPUSA: St. Sebastian Orda registered a fluent 3-1 win over Pinto’s to move ahead in the Candolim inter-ward football tourney organised by Young Boys of Aradi, at Dr Gustavo Monteiro stadium, on Tuesday.
It was Orda’s Edwin Sapeco who put his team ahead in the 15th minute as his strike from outside the penalty box crashed into the back of Pinto’s nylons.
Minutes later, Orda doubled their lead with Suraj scoring off a defensive error.
However, Pinto tried to get back into the match with Jagdesh Sanji guiding the ball into the Orda goal off a cross from Josbon to make it 2-1.
It was Yogesh who made the issue safe for Orda as he drilled a right footer to the top corner of the Pinto’s goal to make it 3-1.
In the second match, Dando pipped Remedious by a solitary goal win. The all important goal came from blistering strike by Rahul in the 37th minute.
