Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that the Goa government will soon begin work on a comprehensive master plan for rapidly expanding Bicholim, aimed at preparing the city for future growth and development.
Sawant said the proposed master plan will focus on modernising key infrastructure, including underground electricity cabling, IT networks, sewage systems and other essential civic facilities.

The plan is intended to ensure that infrastructure development keeps pace with Bicholim’s growing population and changing needs, while laying the foundation for planned and sustainable urban development.
Meanwhile, Sawant also criticised the Congress and other opposition parties, accusing them of being unclear about what they oppose and of targeting the government’s infrastructure projects and welfare initiatives.
The Chief Minister urged people not to be misled by what he described as opposition tactics, maintaining that the government’s development projects and welfare schemes are being undertaken in the interest of the people.
Sawant said the government would continue to focus on infrastructure development and welfare measures while planning ahead for Goa’s future needs.
